How do I know if my insurance will cover therapy or if I have a copay?
Thriving Minds Therapy currently accepts BCBS PPO and United Healthcare/Optum. We will check your eligibility and benefits with your insurance as a courtesy for you upon your request. You can email a picture of the front and back of your insurance card, along with your date of birth to: support@thrivingmindstherapy.net and we will get back to you with your benefit information. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
How long and hOw many times a week are therapy sessions?
Sessions are between 45 to 55 minutes in length. Most clients are seen at least once a week when they start therapy services and once they feel prepared, are seen less frequently. The number of sessions needed depends on what your needs are.
How long does therapy last?
The length of time in therapy depends entirely on what your goals are for therapy and how we aim to achieve those goals. For some their goal for therapy may be to learn very specific skills or accomplish a specific goal in their life so once this is acquired they complete therapy. For others, they experience complex issues such as long term depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, and other things that impair daily life functions so it may take a longer commitment time from an individual to achieve desired results. And for others, therapy can be more of a maintenance check in periodically to ensure they feel they are on track in life and discuss life as it occurs.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, we do not prescribe any medications at Thriving Minds Therapy. For assistance with potential medication please contact your insurance provider to find an in-network psychiatrist if you feel you may benefit from ongoing medication management.
Can’t medication alone solve my problems?
Medication can be beneficial to aiding you in lowering your mental health symptoms but medication alone will not be as effective. Therapy in conjunction with medication allows for exploring the symptoms you are experiencing and finding ways to manage your symptoms (thus, the capacity to work through them) as the medication is taking effect.
How do I know if a therapist is right for me?
You don’t until you do! I encourage you to speak/meet with a therapist for a consultation call if you are not sure if a therapist would be the right fit for you. And even then, sometimes it takes meeting with them two or three times for therapy sessions to see if you feel this person is the right match for you. I always encourage everyone to feel comfortable with any provider they may have (doctor, specialist therapist, dentist, etc.). You have the option to choose who you’d like to seek care from. Please feel free to schedule a free consultation appointment today!
