About me

My name is Janet and I am a lesbian Mexican-American therapist who loves what I do! People often forget that therapists aren’t ONLY therapists, we have our own interests and crazy lives as well. I enjoy playing with my sassy dog, spending time with loved ones, strategy board games, going to concerts and theater performances, getting involved in politics and community efforts, hiking, crafting, traveling, and going on adventures! Some of my favorite roles in life are being a wife, being an older cousin, a great friend, and a granddaughter (my grandma is the best!). I believe in drawing from our strengths and building up supports in our life to enrich our worldly experiences. 

Credentials

I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work from Florida International University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. 

I love being a therapist and connecting to people and that directly translates to the work we do together in therapy together. It’d be my honor to join you on your journey and work together!
